Chaplaincy Today

May 2 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

‘Chaplaincy Today’ is a 4-week course run by MitE Chaplaincy.

The next course will start Tuesday 2nd May. There are two time slots to choose from, 1pm and 7pm. The link below is for the 1pm event.

  • Week 1. On a Mission from God: Theology & History of Chaplaincy – How does chaplaincy fit with theology? Who was the first chaplain? What is the relevance today?
  • Week 2. What does a chaplain look like? – Characteristics of a chaplain. Why does chaplaincy matter to the church?
  • Week 3. What do chaplains do? – All in a day’s work! What does a chaplain actually do?
  • Week 4. Chaplaincy Today – Releasing people and setting them off on their journey.

On this 4-week online course, we explore together what it means to be a chaplain, where it can be done, why it is done and why it works. This is an opportunity to ask questions, find out more, explore possibilities for yourself. You can either sign up individually or the course can be tailored for a particular church or group. The course is open to anyone of any denomination, whether they are just curious about chaplaincy or feel drawn to chaplaincy, whether they are lay or ordained. There is a small charge for this course – please discuss this if it is a problem. All are welcome. The course is currently being run via Zoom.

The Chaplaincy Today course costs £30 which includes all course material and a certificate of completion. If this is prohibitive, maybe your church may sponsor you to attend this course.
