Free Church Chaplain

There is an exciting opportunity for a Free Church Chaplain to join our Chaplaincy Department at the University of Chester, as part of our growing Multi-faith Team supporting the community life and spiritual life of the University. The University of Chester is one of the oldest higher education providers, with roots in the Church of England that are expressed through our Mission, Vision and Foundational Values and our ‘Cathedrals Group’ membership. These values shape the vision and work of Chaplaincy.

We are looking for someone who is an Ordained or Lay member of a Free Church denomination, that is either a member of the Free Churches Group (as listed in link A from the below attached “links” document ) or an “Additional Denomination” (as listed in link B from the below attached “links” document). We are seeking a Chaplain with experience in building community and in offering pastoral care, with the ability to bring innovative and creative initiative into reality. 

Based at the Community Hub & Chaplaincy, Exton Park, Chester, the Chaplain will also offer pastoral and spiritual care to students and staff across our other sites as needed. The Free Church Chaplain will take an active role in our University Chapel services, to further our vision to build ecumenical and inter-faith relationships through events and activities.
